Space Shuttle Hangar: a Clear Span Building

Developed for NASA, this clear span building is used as a hangar for the Space Shuttle. Located in Cape Canaveral, Florida, it is 250 feet wide and 200 feet long, with a tension-membrane roof and straight side walls. The roof membrane forms an overhang at the eaves to direct rain and snow run-off away from the sidewalls of the clear span building.

Whether you need a permanent aircraft hangar or one that you can easily relocate, you'll find our clear span buildings are designed to last. They feature a galvanized tubular steel structure with a clear protective topcoat to prevent rust. And the fire-retardant roof membrane has an acrylic topcoat that protects against ultra violet rays and mildew. Our clear spans offer ventilation in warm weather as well as insulation from the cold.

If you need a creatively designed yet affordable clear span, contact us today.
