CRYSTAL RIVER - November 1, 2003.
ASFI out of Crystal River, Florida has been awarded a 2.9 million dollar contract to fabricate and install a 95,000 square foot amphitheater structure for the new Tampa Amphitheater complex to be located at the fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida.
The unique custom designed fabric roof structure is the first of its kind for Clear Channel Entertainment, the owner and manager of the facility. CCE is a division of Clear Channel Communications, and own and operate numerous entertainment venues around the country.

ASFI worked closely with project architects Gould Evans Associates, Inc. and the General Contractor R.J. Griffin & Company to develop a unique design that provides high aesthetic appeal and improved site lines allowing for increased seating capacity. The translucent fabric roof structure covers the stage area and 9,900 seats and allows for good viewing from an additional 10,000 festival lawn seating. ASFI's design was a considerable improvement over the Butler Building Systems flat room design that was initially planned. ASFI's creative cost effective approach to the project enabled the client to meet his budget and schedule. The facility is scheduled to open in July of 2004.
