Spaceframe Case Studies: Why is a spaceframe better?

A spaceframe offers many benefits over traditional structures. It allows natural light in and offers excellent ventilation. An ASFI spaceframe is faster to build, and it costs a fraction of what you’d expect to pay. Our customers have realized significant cost savings compared to structures built using traditional construction methods.

Fluor Hanford
An innovative solution to a somewhat routine request resulted in a relocatable structure for Department of Energy (DOE) contractor Fluor Hanford. The 150-foot structure is designed to cover a section of trenches housing low-level and transuranic waste buried in trenches during Cold War weapons production.

Eclipse Aviation Facility
As the main entry to Eclipse’s facility, the canopy was designed to reflect the Eclipse Brand promise. ASFI translated the company’s vision into a unique design that is not only welcoming – it ensured the lowest possible cost.

The Tampa Bay Amphitheatre Spaceframe
This spaceframe covers the amphitheatre stage area and 9,900 seats to project the audience from the elements and to provide excellent acoustics for concerts and other entertainment events.

A Spaceframe for the B-2 Bomber
At Diego Garcia AFB, a spaceframe with a unique “eyelid” retractable door houses the B-2 bomber. This amazing, 250-foot-span spaceframe features state-of-the-art HVAC and control systems.

A Mobile Spaceframe for the Shattuck Chemical Superfund Site
This creative spaceframe encloses a work site. Once the 80-foot swath of soil that it covers is remediated, the mobile spaceframe is relocated on a rail to the next remediation site.
